- The Smithsonian continues to explore ways of visually exploring large

Historywired, though launched some time ago, is still a very interesting
interface.

data mapping technology. The software was developed as a way of displaying

for that application of it.
- Revealing Things
- The Smithsonian also used Thinkmap
software to allow people to explore its database. The software
site is still well worth a visit, but the Smithsonian's implementation,
Revealing Things, has now gone, it seems.
- The Museum Informatics Project
- A project at the University of California, Berkeley, to coordinate
the application of information technology in museums and other organized,
non-book collections.
