The Museums and Galleries Commission - for support throughout the preparation of the report and consultation process, and for funding the distribution of the report to registered museums;

The UK Area Museum Councils, and their nominated representatives for their advice, and in particular North West Museums Service, West Midlands Regional Museums Council, and the North Eastern Museums Council for hosting consultation meetings in February and March.

THE CONFERENCE EXISTS TO:
  • Represent the interests of national museums to government and other stakeholders;
  • play a key role in the development of policies and a national agenda for UK museums;
  • increase awareness of the work of its members and their contribution to society and the economy;
  • discuss and present views on other matters of common interest to its members.
